The North East of England may not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking of spotting dolphins. Quite remarkably, the coast that kisses the North Sea is quite literally swimming with dolphins in the spring and summer.

Seaham beach is one of our slightly smaller local beaches which is slightly rockier but with a great promenade to walk along! It is becoming more and more popular with the people of the North East and investment has seen it rise to become one of the best seaside locations in the region.

Roker and Seaburn are two of the well known beaches in North East. For us, they are among the best, especially when the sun is shining. They really showcase our beautiful North East coastline and offer some fantastic walking routes. With plenty of paid and free parking, there’s really no excuse not to visit.

We decided to visit Hackfall Woods spontaneously on a Saturday as the weather was perfect for a good long walk. Hackfall is for some reason not on the tourist map and is a hidden gem featuring countless listed buildings and gardens. It is simply a stunning place.

Cat Bells is quite an easy hike and the views from the summit are absolutely incredible! Keswick is one of the most popular towns in the Lake District.
